Pricing

I want to be transparent about how I think about pricing, because tutoring is a personal investment and it’s important to know what you’re paying for.

My rates reflect more than just the hour we spend together on a call or in a session. Behind each session is a lot of preparation, planning, and follow-up work that’s meant to make our time together as effective and intentional as possible.

Experience & Background

I bring both academic background and hands-on experience into my work. I’m a sophomore at Brown University with a strong foundation in English and the humanities, and I’ve spent hundreds of hours working one-on-one with students across middle school, high school, and college. I’ve supported students with AP English Language and Literature, standardized testing (SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT), and college applications, and I’ve built personalized curricula for students with very different learning profiles and goals.

What Goes Into Each Session (Beyond the Session Itself)

For every hour of tutoring, there is often significant time spent outside of session on:

  • reviewing student work and teacher feedback
  • designing or adapting personalized lesson plans
  • tracking progress over time
  • communicating with parents
  • adjusting pacing and goals as a student grows

Over time, this has added up to hundreds of hours of administrative and curriculum work alongside direct instruction. This behind-the-scenes work is what allows sessions to feel thoughtful and tailored rather than generic or rushed.

Personalization Over “Textbook” Tutoring

My approach isn’t based on pre-packaged worksheets or one-size-fits-all programs. Each student’s plan is built around their learning style, goals, and context. That level of personalization takes time, attention, and ongoing iteration, and it’s a big part of what families are paying for.

Credentials & Track Record

My academic background (AP English Language and Literature, AP Research, strong ACT scores) matters, but just as importantly, I’ve delivered hundreds of hours of one-on-one instruction and worked closely with dozens of students. Over time, I’ve developed systems for onboarding, curriculum design, and progress tracking that allow me to support students in a way that’s consistent, thoughtful, and responsive.

A Note on Sustainability

I care a lot about doing this work well and sustainably. Setting rates that reflect the full scope of what goes into tutoring allows me to continue investing the time, energy, and care that personalized tutoring requires—both during sessions and in the work that happens behind the scenes.
